Information you provide
When you create an account, Quid Pro collects your email address, display name, handle, and password. Passwords are stored as hashes. You can add profile information such as a biography, photo, and city.
We store the listings, photos, messages, trade proposals, reviews, and other content you submit. We also keep trade activity and credit ledger entries to show your balance and exchange history. If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your message.
Location and device information
If you choose to use your device location, the app asks for permission and uses coordinates to find nearby services. You can type a city instead. Coordinates saved to profiles and listings are rounded to an approximate area; nearby searches can send the device coordinates to the service.
If you enable push notifications, we store a notification token and device platform to deliver messages and trade updates. The service also processes connection and security information, such as IP addresses, user agents, access times, and error logs.
How information is used
Quid Pro uses this information to manage accounts, display listings and profiles, find nearby services, deliver messages, record trades and credits, send notifications, respond to support requests, and investigate errors or misuse.
What other people can see
Your public profile and active listings can be viewed by others. They can include your display name, handle, profile photo, biography, city, listing photos, reviews, and activity information. Do not include sensitive information in public content.
Messages and trade details are available to the people participating in the conversation or trade. Authorized service administrators may access information to operate the service or investigate issues. Quid Pro does not offer end-to-end encrypted messaging.
Service providers
Quid Pro uses Amazon Web Services for hosting and media storage. When enabled, push notifications use Expo and the device platform’s notification services, such as Apple or Google. These providers process information needed to deliver those services, including notification tokens and notification content. Email providers process messages you send to support.
We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or threats to safety.
Website storage and analytics
This public website does not include advertising trackers or analytics scripts, and it does not require an account. The hosting service can process connection information to serve pages and maintain security. The mobile app stores sign-in credentials and preferences on your device to keep you signed in and remember your choices.
Retention and deletion
Account information and content are stored to provide the service. Removing a listing hides it from active listings; it does not automatically erase historical trade records or messages. Trade and credit history is maintained to preserve the accuracy of balances.
Contact support to request account deletion or ask about the information held about you. Records may need to be retained for unresolved trades, security, legal obligations, or backups. Uninstalling the app does not delete server-side information.
Your choices and requests
You can edit available profile and listing fields in the app. You can also change photo, location, and notification permissions in your device settings. Disabling a permission can limit the related feature.
For access, correction, deletion, or other privacy requests, use the Quid Pro support page. Your rights depend on where you live. We may request information to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
Quid Pro uses access controls and password hashing to protect account information. No service can guarantee complete security. Keep your password private and contact support if you suspect someone has accessed your account.
